Evaporator Maintenance

Finned Tube Evaporators
Plate Evaporators
Shell and Tube Evaporators

In commercial refrigeration, the evaporator is a critical heat exchanger component where the actual cooling effect occurs. Its primary function is to absorb heat from the surrounding environment or product you want to cool, causing the liquid refrigerant inside it to change state.

We work for small/medium sized businesses like convenience stores and food production businesses, all the way up to large pharma and industrial clients. Specialising in f-gas containing assets and equipment, we work for clients across Ireland. We also provide engineer call-out services.

Maintenance Checklist

Coil Cleaning and Inspection

It is critical to keep the evaporator coils and fins free of dirt, grease, and debris. The fins should be straight, clear of build-up, and free from ice or frost.

Condensate Drain Management

As the evaporator coil cools the air, it removes humidity, which condenses into water. This water must be drained away properly. Our technicians will clean the drain pan and ensure that the drain line is free of clogging and debris.

Fan and Airflow Checks

The evaporator fan ensures that warm air is drawn over the surface of the coil. We will check the fan motor and blades, and ensure that the unit receives the correct airflow.

Component and Performance Checks

Our technicians will provide other routine preventative maintenance tasks including defrost system checks, refrigerant and leak checks, and inspecting operational performance and efficiency.
